We were working with a client to develop their 12 month digital marketing "game plan" but they needed to show some immediate results to their board.
We identified one of their most profitable, high value services.
We targeted a tiny segment of the customer database (less than 120 customers) with an e-mail inviting them to request custom trade pricing on this service through a new landing page on the website.
6 weeks after the campaign, just under £10,000 of business has been won as a direct result of the e-mail.
A further £12,000 of business is in the pipeline as a result of the landing page which is ranking between position 1 and 3 for the target keywords on Google.
Our client had experienced a drop in their position in natural search results and their current digital marketing agency had not been able to improve things.
Starting with a technical website audit we identified over 500 issues affecting the site's ability to rank in search results.
We also identified a likely Google Penguin penalty which would prevent the site ranking well in Google.
After fixing the technical issues we saw a steady improvement in results for some keywords but not all.
Using one of their other websites as a comparison, we were able to confirm that a Google Penguin penalty is the most likely cause of the massive drop in position.
Whilst we wait for a Google Algorithm refresh we are now working on a new website on a new domain in case that refresh takes too long to come.
